When reading the final
Top 40, all 400 M Freestyle results have been converted to 500 Yard
Freestyle times - this is the default setup for Top Times reports in
Yards. So, the time you will see is a generic conversion from a 400
M Free to a 500 Y Free.

Tonight's I.M. Championship Meet has been
moved to Ridley High School. Ridley High School is located
at 901 Morton Avenue, Folsom, PA 19033.
Please read the message below from Jane Billings
of Swarthmore Swim Club regarding the change:
Having a new sympathy for school superintendents
who must make the decision to close school or not, WE WILL ERR ON THE
SIDE OF CAUTION AND MOVE THE MEET INDOORS TO RIDLEY HIGH SCHOOL (RHS).
While I know it is always disappointing to have a summer meet indoors,
Ridley is a beautiful facility with lots of parking and spectator space.
Warm up times will remain the same. A few other notes:
There is not sufficient deck space to comfortably house all swimmers.
We will set up an area for swimmers in the spectator seating. Please,
no latex caps or goggles in the seating area; all latex caps and goggles
must remain on deck (this is RHS's latex-free policy).
We will have someone at our pool with written directions to RHS
in case any of your families do not get this message, as well as a Swarthmore
police officer directing traffic.
SSC will still be selling programs, food, drink, and t-shirts.
Look for us near the entrance.

Swarthmore Swim Club
Due to the potential for bad weather on Wednesday evening, Swarthmore
Swim Club has made arrangements to use the indoor pool at Ridley High
School as a backup pool for the I.M. Championships. At
this time, the meet is still scheduled to be at Swarthmore Swim Club.
A final decision will be made by 3:00 PM on Wednesday with regards to
where the meet will take place. Swarthmore is advising all teams to
get directions to Ridley High School just in case they need to move
it indoors.

This is a reminder that all championship entries are due on Saturday,
July 12. Entries will be collected by Hal Keeler at Marple Newtown Swim
Club. Coaches/Reps: Remember to bring both the Entry
File from Team Manager and a HARD COPY of your entries (for both Divisionals
and A's)

Congratulations to Emily Baturka of Aronimink Swim Club on her breaking
the 14 & Under Girls' 50-Yard Backstroke League Record on July 2,
2008. Emily set a new mark of 27.73 for the event, breaking Katie Meyer's
(Pennypacker) time of 28.11 from 1994.
Week 3 Results are now posted; however, not all results have been reported.
We are waiting on results from two varsity meets from July 2, 2008.
Once those results are received, they will be posted immediately. Current
results are available here.
The Top 40 List for this week will not be posted until all varsity meets
for Week 3 have been reported. Once all meets have been reported, the
Top 40 List will be posted.
In this week's posting of the Top 40 and Week 2 Results, certain times
will be marked with an 'A'. This distinction denotes that the time for
the swimmer met the A Championships Qualifying Time for that event.
This distinction only occurs for times
that occured at a YARDS pool (A Champs Qualifying times
are only set for YARDS). This does not
mean that a converted time from meters cannot qualify for A's; Team/Meet
Manager (the programs we use to publish results) will only match time
standards with 25-yard pool races.
What does this mean in the end? Well, when reading the Top 40 List for
this week, if your name and time is sandwiched between two times with
the 'A', then that means that your time would also have the 'A' (but,
it is not appearing because your time was from a 25-Meter pool or Rose
Valley's 30-yards pool).
For swimmers and parents who are wondering, converted times are
eligible for A Champs.
In a nutshell, the 'A' distinction only occurs when times are from a
25-Yard pool.

In a new feature this summer, we will post a record of the Top 25 times
in each individual event, for each age group, each week. All times have
been coverted to YARDS so that swimmers who compete in Meter pools will
have a chance to see their posted times. If there are any mistakes,
only COACHES or TEAM REPS may submit a change. The links to the lists

After one week of using our new DQ sheets, we
found one error regarding the Backstroke turn - Code 2J. Please note
that we have adjusted the DQ Form to NOT include this form. A new version
of the form can be downloaded here.

The annual league coaches and representative
meeting for all swimming and diving coaches will take place on Wednesday,
June 11, at 7:30 PM at Paxon Hollow Middle School. At least one coach
and representative from each team must attend.
Directions to Paxon Hollow are as follows:
From I-476: Take the I-476 to the
Broomall/Upper Darby Exit. Exit towards Upper Darby. Turn RIGHT onto
Lawerence Road. Follow Lawerence Road until it dead-ends at Route 320/Sproul
Road. Turn RIGHT onto Sproul Road. Turn immediately LEFT at the next
light onto Paxon Hollow Road. Paxon Hollow Middle School is approximately
0.5 miles down the road on the left.
From Newtown Square: Take Route
252 to Route 3 (West Chester Pike). Go EAST on West Chester Pike (towards
Upper Darby. Follow Route 3 to Lawerence Road (just past the on/off
ramps for I-476). Turn RIGHT onto Lawerence Road. Follow Lawerence Road
until it dead-ends at Route 320/Sproul Road. Turn RIGHT onto Sproul
Road. Turn immediately LEFT at the next light onto Paxon Hollow Road.
Paxon Hollow Middle School is approximately 0.5 miles down the road
on the left.
The 2008 Marple Newtown Relay Carnival will
take place on Saturday, June 14, at Marple Newtown Swim Club. Warm-ups
are at 8:15 AM and start time is 9:00 AM. Lane assignments will be given
out at the Coaches Meeting along with the rules.
